Dragonfly Designs with Watton Infant & Junior School
This year the children at Westfield and Watton Junior found themselves in a situation none of us have ever experienced before. Suddenly, the weren't able to see their friends or family. They were not allowed to go out, visit parks or go to school.
All the staff here are extremely proud of how amazingly the children have coped and stayed hopeful and positive. Many of them have worked hard at home or been in school. They have drawn pictures or rainbows, clapped for our hero's and adapted to a new normal.
For the year 6 children in particular, they missed out on all the usual experiences associated with leaving primary school before moving onto their next chapter.
Through the relationship that has been building between the schools and the Dragonfly centre we have been able to offer the children in school an exciting and unique opportunity. They have been able to design their own artwork to be included in an online gallery. Many of the children were inspired by school memories or reflected on their feelings of lock down.
I hope that you will enjoy seeing all the children's art work displayed and that the children themselves will feel proud of what they have achieved. This gallery is the first of what we hope will be many more projects between the gallery and schools.
